After Zhao’s departure from the management, Binance was taken over by a 7-member board, which includes two external top managers appointed by the US Department of Justice to ensure regulatory compliance.
Changpeng Zhao stated that he does not plan to lead any company in the future and will focus on investing in the latest technologies, including blockchain and artificial intelligence. After paying a $ 50 million fine and completing his prison term, Zhao will be released on September 29.
