Cryptocurrency hackers hacked the account of a well-known analyst — investors' funds are in danger
Michael van de Poppe, a well-known investor and founder of MN Trading Consultancy, posted a warning on Twitter. He said that on the morning of January 16, his social media account was hacked.
Hackers posted phishing links on Poppe’s page, encouraging investors to click on them. The analyst has now regained access to his account. The expert emphasized that he used multi-factor authentication (MFA), but it did not protect him.
Michael van de Poppe addressed his 864,000 subscribers, emphasizing that he hopes no one clicked on phishing links. The investor hopes that users have not lost their digital assets.
After that, Van de Poppe traditionally continued to publish market analytics. The expert noted that the last «easy» cycle for BTC and cryptocurrencies is ahead. According to him, the current stage will take longer than before, but it will «change the lives of people on Earth.»
The analyst suggested that although bitcoin could drop by half, buying when it falls below $ 41,000 seems to be a «smart strategy.» De Poppe expects that the volatility of the main cryptocurrency will precede bitcoin’s growth to the «impressive mark» of $ 300,000.
