The solo miner was able to mine a block on the bitcoin network BTC $94,322.38 Bitcoin 0.12% Market capitalization $1.87 trillion VOL. 24 hours $1.72 billion using equipment costing only $ 299. It happened on March 10, when he found block #887,212 using a home Bitax rig with a 480 GH/s hashrate. His reward amounted to 3.15 BTC (about $ 250,000).

CKPool administrator Kon Kolivas noted that the probability of finding a block with such power is one in a million, and the average time for this is more than 3,500 years of continuous operation.

The miner used six Bitax devices manufactured by D-Central Technologies, with a total hashrate of ~3.3 TH/s. The block was found thanks to one of the Ultra model units, which uses ASIC chips from Bitmain’s Antminer S19XP.

More modern versions of the device — Bitax Gamma and Bitax Supra — are based on Antminer S21 chips, which are even more powerful. According to Altair Tech, the cost of such devices in the US varies from $ 169 to $ 299.

Kolivas noted that connecting several such miners to a pool increases the chances of success. According to him, it was the total computing power that played a key role in this situation.

In total, CKPool users have already mined 297 solo blocks on the Bitcoin network. The first such success with the Bitax device was recorded in July 2024.
