Cryptocurrency owner lost all his funds due to a fake game

Mark Koch, a Singaporean investor and founder of the RektSurvivor fraud support community, lost all his crypto assets after installing a fake online game. The malware, disguised as a beta version of the MetaToy game, allowed attackers to access his wallets despite using an antivirus and subsequent attempts to clean the system.

Koch said that in early December 2025, he received an invitation on Telegram to take part in testing the game, which seemed to be completely legitimate, with a realistic website, an active Discord community, and communication on behalf of the developers. Koch emphasized that he did not enter any passphrases or use any wallets during the attack, which indicates the sophistication and sophistication of the hack.

In his opinion, the hackers may have combined the theft of authorization tokens with the use of a previously unknown zero-day vulnerability in the Google Chrome browser. This could have allowed them to execute malicious code and intercept system library data.

After the incident, the entrepreneur contacted the police and urged the crypto community to be vigilant. He recommends deleting passphrases from browser wallets after use and storing private keys separately to minimize possible losses in case of a hack.
