Cryptocurrency token Uniswap has grown sharply by 60%

Over the past week, the digital asset segment has been quiet and many assets are in consolidation. However, there are tokens that are showing significant growth.

These include Uniswap, which has added about 60% in value over the past day. A key factor in the development of this trend was the proposal to revise the protocol management system, which was put forward by the head of the Uniswap Foundation, Erin Cohen.

The expert noted: «I believe that we should update the protocol so that its commission mechanism rewards UNI token holders who are engaged in staking and delegating their assets.»

This event marks a departure from last year’s initiative to reward token holders through the accrual of fees. Last summer, the Uniswap community rejected a proposal that included fees for many liquidity pools and distributed a portion of the profits among token holders.

In October last year, the platform started charging 0.15% fees on crypto swaps with Ethereum and USD Coin. If Cohen’s new proposal is approved by the community, it will allow the programmatic collection of commissions and their equal distribution among the holders of Uniswap tokens that sent them to staking.
