Deepfakes pose a big threat to cryptocurrency owners
Чарльз Хоскінсон" href="https://noworries.news/biography/charlz-hoskinson/" data-bio-id="10 311">Charles Hoskinson, the founder of Cardano, has warned the cryptocurrency community that the development of generative art technologies is creating conditions for sophisticated forms of fraud.
Recently, Hoskinson shared another case of fraud with his Twitter followers. It is about the publication on YouTube of a commercial created exclusively on the basis of generative artificial intelligence technologies.
In the AI-generated video, the pseudo Hoskinson allegedly discusses the upcoming ADA airdrop live with intonations very similar to the real Hoskinson.
During the discussion in the X (ex-Twitter) thread, a social media user under the pseudonym Digital Asset News (@NewsAsset) shared his impression of watching the fake broadcast. He found the generated image and AI voice «damn close to reality.»
Hoskinson urged the cryptocurrency community to be careful and not to trust ads that look too good to be true. He also urged developers of generative art technologies to work on making the dipfakes more easily recognizable.
