Developers present the world’s most powerful bitcoin mining device

Mining hardware manufacturer Bitmain has unveiled its latest model Antminer S21 HYD with a 335 TH/s hashrate and 16 J/TH (joules per terahash) energy efficiency at The World Digital Mining Summit 2023 in Hong Kong.

It is currently the most powerful bitcoin mining machine — the previous hashrate record belonged to MicroBT’s WhatsMiner M53S device, which was introduced in May this year. It has a capacity of 320 TH/s (terahashes per second) and an efficiency of 22 J/TH.

Along with Antminer S21 HYD, the Antminer S21 model was presented. It has a hashrate of 200 TH/s and an energy efficiency factor of 17.5 J/TH. You can order the new models now. Bitmain will start supplying them in 2024.

It also became known that Bitmain will supply 27,000 Antminer S19J XP devices (with a capacity of 151 TH/s) to Core Scientific, a mining company undergoing bankruptcy proceedings, in exchange for $ 23.1 million and another $ 53.9 million in shares of Core Scientific. The value of the shares, according to the owner, will be determined by the bankruptcy court in the fourth quarter of this year.

Last year, the American company Heatbit released the world’s first bitcoin-mining he ater called Heatbit. The startup raised the money to launch the project through the Kickstarter platform in 2021, and last month, the first commercial samples were ready for the company’s first investors and customers.

The Heatbit has a power of 1400 watts and is designed to heat rooms up to 16 square meters. The device works quite quietly, as its noise level does not exceed 42 decibels. For comparison, the sound volume of a working refrigerator reaches 40 decibels.
