Do Kwon wants FBI to return stolen cryptocurrency to him

4:19 pm, January 10, 2023

A member of the Terraform Labs community said he accidentally received $ 1.5 million in Luna cryptocurrency from the company. The man said that he refused to return the money, and the company’s CEO До ÐšÐ²Ð¾Ð½" href="https://noworries.media/biography/do-kvon/" data-bio-id="3665">Do Kwon offered to intervene with law enforcement.

Kwon’s remark both angered and made the crypto community laugh, as the founder of Terraform Labs himself is now on the run from the FBI and several thousand defrauded investors.

The main person involved in the theft of $ 1.5 million is the still little-known Jimmy Le. On his Twitter profile, Le even created a thread explaining what happened and refuting all the official accusations made by Terraform Labs. Le calls the situation «unique» and wants to discuss the problem with tax advisors first.

The man has already complained that he is being threatened not only with lawsuits but also with physical violence. The crypto community almost unanimously supports Le and mocks Do Kwon, advising the Luna creator to «personally ask the FBI» how the search for $ 1.5 million is going.

At the moment, Kwon is in Serbia. If it turns out that he is indeed there, South Korea must come up with an effective legal mechanism to request the extradition of the Terraform Labs founder. Although South Korea has concluded bilateral extradition treaties with 31 countries, Serbia is not on the list. However, South Korea has also concluded a much broader multilateral extradition treaty with the Council of Europe, to which Serbia is also a signatory. In theory, this increases the chances of the Korean authorities bringing Kwon to justice.

Previously, Do Kwon claimed that he was not «running away» and «not making efforts to hide,» so he continued to post actively on his Twitter account over the past few months. As a reminder, the CEO of Terraform Labs called on the bankrupt cryptocurrency exchange FTX and its founder Сем Бенкман-Фрід" href="https://noworries.media/biography/sem-benkman-frid/" data-bio-id="3697″ data-wpel-link="internal">Sam Bankman-Fried to tell the public the truth about the collapse of the Terra LUNA ecosystem. Thus, Kwon, who is wanted by Interpol and law enforcement agencies in 195 countries, hinted at Freed’s involvement in the collapse of the LUNA token and the UST stablecoin, which caused millions of investor losses.
