Interpol is involved in the search for Kwon
The South Korean prosecutor’s office asked Interpol to issue a red notice to Kwon. This happened after Singapore confirmed the information that the developer had left the country, although Kwon claimed that he had no intention of fleeing from law enforcement. On Saturday, September 17, Do Kwon made an official statement on Twitter and noted that he was ready to cooperate with the South Korean authorities. The developer also emphasized that it is not necessary to know his exact coordinates to interact with him. It is currently unknown where the TerraformLabs CEO is.
An Interpol Red Notice is a warning to law enforcement agencies around the world to find and arrest a person and hold him or her until extradition proceedings are initiated. If the organization agrees to issue such an instruction, the relevant document will be sent to police chiefs in 195 countries.
Yesterday, South Korean prosecutors said that Terraform Labs founder Do Kwon, who is wanted on fraud charges, is hiding and not cooperating with the investigation. The founder and CEO of TerraformLabs is accused by the South Korean authorities of violating the country’s financial markets laws. Currently, the South Korean authorities are considering revoking Kwon’s passport.
