Donald Trump earned $ 57 million on his own cryptocurrency project
In 2024, Donald Trump earned $ 57.35 million from the sale of tokens of the World Liberty Financial crypto project, according to his latest annual financial disclosure statement (Form 278e) published by the US Office of Government Ethics. This income is part of a large-scale fundraising of more than $ 550 million that the project completed in March, selling 25% of the total volume of WLFI tokens, The Block writes.
The declaration also states that Trump owns 15.75 billion World Liberty management tokens, estimated to be worth between $ 1,001 and $ 15,000. Despite the amount of ownership and the ability to participate in the project’s voting, no member of the Trump family is formally a founder, manager, or operator of World Liberty, according to the whitepaper.
The project is actively promoting its USD1 stablecoin pegged to the US dollar and recently conducted an airdrop of these tokens to WLFI holders. This strategy is in line with the pro-crypto stance of Trump, who openly supports the legislative regulation of the US dollar stablecoin.
World Liberty has a total volume of 100 billion tokens, of which 63% are planned to be sold to the public.
Last week, a public dispute between US President Donald Trump and Tesla CEO Elon Musk caused serious fluctuations in the cryptocurrency market, but at the same time raised the price of the little-known KILL BIG BEAUTIFUL BILL (KBBB) meme-coin. The conflict arose from Trump’s legislative initiative called the One Big Beautiful Bill, which Musk called «disgusting abomination» and accused of threatening the financial stability of the United States.
