Donald Trump’s meme-coin grew by 21% per day

Shares of Trump Media and Technology Group, the company behind the Truth Social social network, rose sharply by more than 21% on the day and by another 5% in the aftermarket session. The surge followed Donald Trump’s announcement of a 90-day pause on reciprocal tariffs against countries that have not retaliated against US policy. This decision prompted a positive reaction from financial markets and directly affected Trump’s business interests.

According to the latest data, Trump owns 52.9% of Trump Media, which is 114,750,000 shares, valued at $ 2.32 billion at the close of trading. Compared to the previous day, his personal wealth increased by $ 410 million in just one trading session. However, even before taking office, all shares were transferred to a trust controlled by his eldest son, Donald Trump Jr.

In parallel, the Official Trump (TRUMP) crypto asset also experienced growth, adding 7.5% over the past 24 hours and trading at $ 8.08. It is known that entities affiliated with the Trump Organization control 80% of the issue of this token. This enhances its perception not only as a speculative asset but also as a tool of political symbolism.

Interestingly, the rise of DJT shares was preceded by Trump’s morning post on Truth Social, where he called for buying the company’s shares, calling it «a good time to invest.» Three hours later, he announced the end of the tariffs, which further strengthened the company’s market position and increased its capitalization.

The market reacted strongly to the combination of political decisions and Trump’s direct involvement in promoting his assets, which again raised the question of the impact of public statements by politicians on the stock and cryptocurrency markets during the election campaign.
