The fall in the value of bitcoin is sparking new speculation about its possible collapse — leading tech media have already called the flagship cryptocurrency dead 461 times, counting almost from the beginning of the BTC’s existence.

According to 99Bitcoins, in 2022, the media wrote about the «death of bitcoin» 21 times in a significant way and for various reasons (information as of the time of writing), while in 2021, this figure was higher — 47 times. Obviously, the topic of the flagship cryptocurrency’s death is no longer interesting for both the public and media resources.

However, according to a recent report on Google Trends, interest in the query «Bitcoin is dead» has declined over the past few months. At the end of June, we reported that the number of Google searches for «bitcoin is dead» had increased dramatically and probably reached the highest level in the history of observations. «Bitcoin is dead» scored 100 points (Google Trends tracks interest in search queries, assigning points from 1 to 100 based on the total number of queries).
