Johnny Depp donates profits from his NFT collection to charity

Johnny Depp donated the proceeds from the sale of his NFT collection to four charitable organizations. Back in July 2022, the actor’s creative platform Never Fear Truth announced that it had raised almost $ 800,000. Depp’s four beneficiaries were: St. Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation, Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity, The Footprint Coalition, and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

Fans praised the actor for his «endless kindness». One user wrote on Twitter: «JD always follows through on his commitments, his honesty is admirable, I love him.» Another added: «That's what an honest person does — they think of others first, not themselves. He has a heart of gold, it’s incredible.»

Interestingly, Johnny Depp’s NFT collection was not popular at first. However, after the actor won a lawsuit against his ex-wife Amber Heard, the tokens jumped significantly in price. At the time of writing, 1 NFT from the actor’s collection costs 0.059 ETH or $ 96.48 (54% lower than the initial price) on the CoinGecko platform.

The NFT collection contains images of the actor’s heroes and friends, including Heath Ledger, Tim Burton, River Phoenix, Elizabeth Taylor, and Al Pacino. There are also 607 NFTs featuring Johnny Depp himself. In total, the collection consists of 11,111 NFTs, of which 10,000 are available for purchase. The other 1111 were distributed by the actor among his fans and team members who supported Johnny during the massive harassment after his divorce from Amber Heard.
