eBay has launched the first collection of NFT tokens

EBay has announced a strategic partnership with NFT platform OneOf, the first step of which was the launch of its own NFT collection.

OneOf has gained popularity as a platform that cares about the environment — the company cooperates only with «green» blockchains. The first eBay Genesis NFT collection consists of three-dimensional figures of iconic athletes that have been featured on the covers of Sports Illustrated for many years. The first character in the pilot series is Wayne Gretzky, a famous hockey player.

«NFTs and blockchain technology are revolutionizing the collectibles space and are increasingly seen as an investment opportunity for enthusiasts. Through our partnership with OneOf, eBay is now making NFTs more accessible to a new generation of collectors around the world,» eBay said about the cooperation.

As a reminder, eBay’s closest competitor Amazon is considering launching NFT sales in the future.
