Edward Snowden publicly mocks fake bitcoin developer

9:38 pm, November 1, 2022

Edward Snowden, an American programmer and notorious former NSA and CIA employee, has publicly ridiculed the pseudo-developer of the flagship cryptocurrency Craig Wright. The verbal altercation took place in the comments to Snowden’s Twitter post, where Wright once again claimed to be Satoshi Nakamoto.

As we reported earlier, yesterday marked the 14th anniversary of the creation of bitcoin — on October 31, 2008, Satoshi Nakamoto published a white paper on bitcoin titled «Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Money System». In honor of this event, Edward Snowden published a copy of the white paper on his page with the words: «14 years later today, Satoshi is still anonymous. Unbelievable».

Craig Wright, who has been calling himself Satoshi Nakamoto for several years, responded to Snowden: "I was never anonymous, you traitorous bastard." It is worth noting that Wright has been trying to convince members of the crypto community of his involvement in the creation of bitcoin for a long time to no avail: lawsuits Coinbase-ta-kraken-u-torgivli-falshyvym-bitkoyinom/">against crypto giants, fighting with bloggers, new legends about the first crypto wallet. No matter how much effort the fake Satoshi makes, he is not called the father of bitcoin, and there are no facts to support his words.

Edward Snowden noted that a few weeks ago, Wright lost a lawsuit against the blogger Hodlonaut, who called the self-proclaimed Satoshi a fraud. According to the court’s decision, the blogger’s words were not fraud or slander, and given Craig Wright’s actions, he «had every reason to believe so.» Obviously, no one believes in his involvement in the creation of bitcoin except Wright himself.

It was during one of the court hearings in the Wright v. Hodlonaut case that Craig Wright revealed another «secret» that allegedly proves that he created bitcoin. The fake Satoshi «confessed» that he had trampled on the hard drive with the keys to the first cryptocurrency wallet. «If I hadn’t done it, people would have forced me to do things I didn’t want to do,» Craig Wright cryptically explained his alleged actions.
