The ex-head of the largest bitcoin owner advises Elon Musk to buy more cryptocurrency

6:10 pm, August 22, 2022

MicroStrategy CEO Michael Saylor remains loyal to the first cryptocurrency. Recently, the 57-year-old executive chairman of the analytical company advised billionaire Elon Musk to buy more BTC, as the latter jokingly hinted at buying Manchester United football club on Twitter.

When asked if he was serious, Musk replied that it was a joke and that he had no intention of buying a football team. However, the billionaire noted that if he wanted to invest in a football club, it would be Manchester United. Michael Saylor reacted to this remark.

«We'd like you to buy some more bitcoin,» Saylor wrote in response to Musk. It seems that MicroStrategy’s executive chairman has made it a habit to support BTC whenever he can, especially if there is a discussion on Twitter. Two months ago, MicroStrategy announced that it bought another 480 BTC from May 3 to June 28. The firm now holds 129,699 BTC, which is worth approximately $ 3 billion. This makes MicroStrategy the most important institutional holder of the asset.

Earlier, Michael Saylor criticized Elon Musk for selling 75% of BTC to Tesla. In his tweet published after the news of the conversion of 75% of Tesla’s BTC into cash, which brought the company $ 936 million, Michael Saylor ridiculed such actions. «If you sell 75% of your bitcoins, you’ll only have 25% of your BTC left,» Saylor wrote on Twitter.
