Elon Musk to use blockchain as a cryptocurrency regulator in the US

12:14 pm, January 27, 2025
Bloomberg media agency informs: Elon Musk, the head of the new US Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), is considering the possibility of using blockchain to optimize budget expenditures. The technology can be used to control public financial processes, protect data, and manage resources efficiently. According to media reports, the department has already held consultations with representatives of Web3 companies to study their experience and technologies.

Musk aims to reduce federal spending by trillions of dollars annually. He believes that blockchain transparency can strengthen control over the distribution of funds and reduce inefficiencies. Similar initiatives have been proposed before: in 2024, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. proposed to transfer the entire US federal budget to the blockchain to increase accountability.

The DOGE department has been active since January 2025. The launch of their official website led to an 11% increase in the value of the Dogecoin meme, which is used as a symbol of the department. Despite the fact that one of the co-founders of the project, Vivek Ramaswamy, left the team, Musk is confident in the future success of the initiative.

Experts point out that the introduction of blockchain in public administration could be a revolutionary step for the modernization of US financial processes.
