Elon Musk’s payment system account appeared on Twitter-X

An XPayments account has appeared on the X platform (formerly Twitter). Crypto users and enthusiasts speculate that it may be related to the payment system being developed by Elon Musk’s company.

The new account has a golden badge, which indicates the status of a verified organization, as well as the X platform logo. Users note that these factors indicate an official connection between the account and X.

It is noteworthy that with an audience of more than 106,200 users, the billionaire himself is not among XPayments' subscribers. At the moment, he has not commented on the account.

In recent months, Company X has been actively preparing a payment service for launch. In December 2023, it became known that X Payments LLC received a license to conduct money transfers in 12 US states.

Earlier, the media spread information that Elon Musk was seeking to create «X as an app for everything» or a «super app». The billionaire uses the popular Chinese social network WeChat as a reference, which supports messaging, ridesharing, food delivery, and other services in one application. The billionaire has even developed a plan to improve his own social network, which, according to his vision, will also work as a payment system for banking transactions.
