Elon Musk’s X social network may get cryptocurrency integration in the near future

Elon Musk’s X social network has a new head of design. It is Benji Taylor, a specialist with many years of experience in the crypto industry who worked at Aave Labs and for the last six months headed the design of the Base network from Coinbase.

Taylor founded Los Feliz Engineering, which was acquired by Aave Labs in 2023. There, he rose from Vice President of Product and Design to Chief Product Officer. His arrival at X, according to Head of Product Nikita Bier, was the result of six months of negotiations. Bier stated that the company’s goal is to build «the best design team in the industry.»

Taylor himself called X «the most important platform in the world» and emphasized that he wants to help shape its future. There are already speculations in the market that his experience in DeFi and blockchain projects may signal the integration of cryptocurrency functions into X.

It is worth noting that the X Money service has been in beta testing since March. Elon Musk said that public access will begin in April, but it is not yet known whether the platform will have digital assets at the start.
