Epic Games to sue the founders of Fortnite Token cryptocurrency
Video game developer Epic Games plans to sue the founders of the Fortnite Token cryptocurrency.
Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney «spammed» Fortnite Token in his comments on Twitter. Sweeney said that his lawyers are already preparing a lawsuit against the token’s developers. He called the Fortnite Token cryptocurrency a fraud and claimed that it violated his company’s copyright by copying the name and logo of the Fortnite game.
There isn't a Fortnite cryptocurrency. The Twitter accounts promoting such a thing are a scam. Epic's lawyers are on it. Also, shame on the cryptocurrency marketplaces that enable this kind of thing.

The creators of Fortnite Token do not agree with the accusations. The crypto team stated that their token is not a fraudulent cryptocurrency, but an honest project developed by Fortnite fans.

Sweeney has repeatedly expressed his negative opinion about cryptocurrencies and NFTs. However, his views have changed over time: while the CEO of Epic Games used to oppose the crypto industry and non-fungible tokens, he now considers it an acceptable investment and even placed the first NFT game in the Epic Games store.
