Ethereum sets a seven-month record
The main altcoin Ethereum shows significant growth ahead of the long-awaited Shapella update. ETH $2,816.90 Bridged Ether (StarkGate) 7.23% Market capitalization $0.23 billion VOL. 24 hours $1.98 billion managed to set a seven-month record, rising to a peak high of $ 1920.
According to CoinGecko, ethereum has risen by 4.8% over the past 24 hours, 7.7% over the past 7 days, and 22.2% over the past month. The last time the token exceeded $ 1900 was back on August 16, 2022, when the Fed was raising the federal funds rate at a record pace to fight inflation.

According to Etherscan, the daily number of active ETH addresses has increased over the past month, reaching 443,292 as of April 4. At the same time, the number of active addresses has jumped by about 10% since last weekend alone. In general, the indicator remained in relative flatness for the first three months of the new year (it remained unchanged), but the growth of recent weeks helped it to gain a foothold above the 400,000 mark.
In anticipation of the upcoming Shapella update, the Ethereum Foundation has increased the bug bounty. During the 105th All Core Developers Consensus (ACDC) conference, Ethereum Foundation security specialist Fredrik Svantes announced that the maximum reward for finding a vulnerability in the Shanghai/Capella update has been doubled from $ 250,000 to $ 500,000.
Preparations for the update, also known as Shanghai-Capella, are in full swing, with the launch scheduled for April 12 in block number 6,209,536. The main updates will include the ability to withdraw funds from staking and optimize commission (gas) costs.
