Ethereum will pay developers up to $ 1 million if they find bugs in the blockchain
Representatives of the Ethereum ecosystem have announced an increase in the amount of rewards for developers who find a bug in the blockchain, as Ethereum seeks to resolve any problems before switching to a «green» blockchain.
As it has become known, each programmer has until September 8 to find a bug and receive a reward for their work. The amounts that will be paid to developers in case of bugs vary depending on the type of exploit. The maximum reward of $ 1,000,000,000 can be received only if they find a bug that poses a real threat to the future merger of The Merge.
The largest Ethereum update in history will take place on September 14 at 22:57:34 (Kyiv time). Following the successful transition of the last Goerli test network to the PoS consensus mechanism, Ethereum developers have decided to speed up the process of merging the main network. According to Ethereum representatives, the Goerli transition is the last opportunity for users to make sure that their PoS validators are configured correctly before the main network migration. It is expected that the transition of Ethereum to a PoS network will reduce energy consumption by 99%.
