Ethereum whale moved 1140 ETH after 10 years of inactivity
The Ethereum blockchain ETH $2,807.82 Bridged Ether (StarkGate) 5.42% Market capitalization $79.1 million VOL. 24 hours $2.29 billion has recorded the movement of a significant amount of dormant coins — more than 1,140 ETH that had been dormant for almost 10 years have been transferred to new addresses.
The transactions from the historical wallets took place amid rising ETH prices and renewed interest in old assets. It is known that the funds were received during the early development of the Ethereum network, probably by one of the participants in the initial token offering (ICO) in 2015. Most of the coins remained untouched during this time.
Analysts suggest that such movements may be due to both the entry of long-time investors into the market and increased attention to the security of old private keys. The movement of dormant funds often indicates a change in investment strategy or a desire to take advantage of favorable market conditions.
The movement of old coins always attracts the attention of the community, as these wallets are usually associated with early developers or large «hodlers.» However, it is not yet known whether the owner plans to sell the ETH or just moved them for security reasons.
Such cases are rare and often signal structural changes in the market — especially if such coins are subsequently listed on exchanges for sale or participation in DeFi protocols.
