Head of the Ministry of Digital Transformation is among the top 50 most influential people in the cryptocurrency industry

4:55 pm, December 6, 2022

Mykhailo Fedorov, Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, has been named one of the top 50 most influential people in the cryptocurrency industry in 2022 by CoinDesk.

Every December, CoinDesk representatives summarize the results of 12 months to find the topics, stories, and people that have had the greatest impact on cryptocurrencies, blockchain, and Web3. The 35th place in the top is occupied by Ukrainian Mikhail Fedorov, known for his active work in favor of the crypto and tech sectors of our country, even in the face of war. «For raising many millions in digital assets to protect Ukraine,» CoinDesk explained Fedorov’s selection.

Thanks to the efforts of Mykhailo Fedorov, representatives of crypto funds, and concerned investors, Ukraine has received more than $ 178 million in cryptocurrencies as of September 30. «Each helmet, bulletproof vest, and night vision device saves the lives of Ukrainian soldiers. That is why we must continue to support our defenders. We are grateful to all members of the crypto community for supporting Ukraine! «Fedorov emphasized back in the summer.

Recently, the Minister of Digital Transformation announced a new stage in the cooperation between our country and the tech giant Google: the company will provide $ 2 million for digital education for Ukrainians and 50 thousand Google Workspace licenses for the Government. «Google services have already become part of the infrastructure of the Ministry of Digital Transformation. Now other government agencies will be able to work faster, despite the shelling and constant threats of cyberattacks by Russians,» Fedorov wrote on his Telegram channel a few days ago.

The CoinDesk list also includes:

  1. Changpeng Zhao — for defeating a «40 billion dollar» competitor with a single tweet.
  2. ZachXBT for giving crypto fraudsters nowhere to hide.
  3. Ryan Wyatt — for mediating the largest number of Web3 partnerships.
  4. Zuko Wilcox for leading the «privacy is normal» campaign.
  5. Molly White and all crypto skeptics for being right in most cases in 2022.

The list (47th place) even includes Sam Bankman-Fried, the former chairman of the bankrupt FTX exchange, as a «crypto savior turned crypto killer.» As a reminder, Benkman-Fried said that his lawyers opposed his taking full responsibility for the FTX collapse. It is noteworthy that amid the exchange’s bankruptcy, the businessman himself faced a number of legal problems — a class action lawsuit worth about $ 11 billion was initiated against him. At the same time, there are more and more calls for Bankman-Fried's extradition to the United States.
