Ripple CEO is confident that NFT tokens will help the environment
In a recent interview with Cointelegraph at the World Economic Forum, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse said that NFT tokens can seriously help in areas of society where they have never been used before.
Garlinghouse called NFTs a very undervalued asset. In his opinion, NFTs will start to be used on a massive scale as soon as investors realize how useful they can be: «Back in December, I was interviewed and I said that [NFT] are undervalued, despite the fact that there is a lot of hype in some parts of the NFT market. I continue to think so. As world leaders around the world learn how these technologies can benefit their constituents, their economies, they will be eager to use NFTs.»
As an example, Garlinghouse cited the situation with carbon credits, which are actually quotas for emissions into the atmosphere. In his opinion, the tokenization of the process would have a huge impact on the environment: «At the moment, people are trading anything but carbon credits, which is why there are a lot of fraudulent trades in this market. I think an open and transparent system to control carbon credits could revolutionize this market.»
