Google Cloud starts cooperation with blockchain startup Aptos

5:18 pm, November 11, 2022

According to an official statement by Moe Shaik, co-founder and CEO of blockchain startup Aptos, the platform has signed a partnership agreement with Google’s cloud computing division, Google Cloud. Google Cloud developers will become validators and participate in the main Aptos network. The Aptos blockchain will also be indexed and will be available in the Google Cloud BigQuery service.

According to Moe Schaick at the Token2049 conference in London, Aptos' partnership with the tech giant is aimed at encouraging new talented crypto developers to cooperate. The companies will create an accelerator that will help representatives of blockchain companies «showcase» themselves and eventually start working with Aptos and Google Cloud. «It will be really interesting to see how the two worlds of technology will collide in a joint effort. Developers who are interested in using both Google and Aptos tools will be able to create something really cool,» said Simon Baxis, Head of Web3 at Google.

Aptos Lab is a new blockchain startup founded by two former Meta employees, Avery Ching and Mo Shaik. They worked on the blockchain using the open-source Diem technology and the Move coding language developed at Meta. According to Ching and Shaik, Aptos is a «scalable general-purpose blockchain» for non-fungible tokens, social networks, and decentralized finance. At the end of September, it became known that Binance-ogolosyla-pro-spivpraczyu-z-blokchejn-startapom-kolyshnih-praczivnykiv-facebook/">Binance had partnered with Aptos Lab, and in October, within minutes of listing on the cryptocurrency exchange, the value of the APT token increased by 10,000%.

It is worth noting that APT $12.28 Aptos 1.99% Market capitalization $6.55 billion VOL. 24 hours $99 million has grown by 21% over the past day, all thanks to the news of the blockchain’s partnership with Google. Cooperation with Aptos Lab is not the only crypto partnership for Google Cloud. In early November, it became known that Google Cloud developers had launched a validator on the Solana blockchain and added features designed for Solana developers and node executors. Google said that, in addition to launching the Solana validator «to participate and validate the network,» the developers will adapt their Blockchain Node Engine to the Solana network in 2023.
