Hacker hacked into tech giants' accounts on platform X to steal cryptocurrency
Over the past month, a hacker has hacked more than 15 accounts on social network X through phishing and used them to promote fraudulent schemes with meme tokens. This was reported by online researcher ZachXBT.
Among the victims are the accounts of the Kick streaming platform, the Cursor artificial intelligence project, Alex Blani, co-founder of the World project, and many other well-known companies.
The hacker sent fake copyright infringement notifications on behalf of the X administration to force users to go to a phishing site. In this way, the attacker gained access to passwords and two-factor authentication. After seizing control of the accounts, the crypto fraudster published announcements about the issue of meme tokens, adding links to fraudulent smart contracts to collect investments.
In total, the fraudulent scheme brought the offender about $ 500,000.
