Immunefi, a leading blockchain security platform, has published a report on losses in the cryptocurrency industry in the second quarter of 2024. According to the data, $ 572.68 million in digital assets were lost during this period due to hacking and fraud in the Web3 ecosystem.

Centralized financial platforms (CeFi) proved to be the most vulnerable to hackers, accounting for 70% of all losses, while decentralized finance (DeFi) accounted for 30%. Ethereum and BNB Chain proved to be the most attractive chains for attackers. They accounted for 34 and 18 incidents respectively, followed by Arbitrum with 4 cases.
The total amount of funds stolen by hackers amounted to $ 564.23 million, while $ 8.45 million was lost due to fraud. Only $ 26.73 million was recovered, which is only 5% of the total losses.
