A crypto detective under the nickname ZachXBT has reported a hack of the Taiwanese crypto exchange BitoPro, which allegedly took place on May 8, 2025. According to his estimates, the attackers stole $ 11.5 million worth of crypto assets. The next day after the alleged hack, on May 9, the BitoPro team announced that the withdrawal and deposit system was being «maintained.» The temporary unavailability of functions raised questions among users, but there has been no official statement on the incident from BitoPro.

BitoPro has been operating in Taiwan since 2018 and is owned by BitoGroup. According to CoinGecko, the exchange’s trading volume over the past day amounted to about $ 24 million, and the platform’s reliability rating is 8 out of 10.

ZachXBT emphasized that the crypto assets were sold on decentralized platforms, and traces of some of them were subsequently lost through mixers. Users are waiting for the exchange’s official position on the incident.
