Hackers have begun to actively use the PoW version of the Ethereum cryptocurrency
The EtherPoW Ethereum fork team has warned the community about the spread of fake accounts and phishing sites on social media that pretend to be the official project.
According to the EtherPoW (ETHW) statement, users may fall victim to a fraudulent campaign on social media, where there is a massive spread of fake accounts and websites of the project.

In addition, several popular Twitter accounts have been hacked to falsely advertise ETHW airdrops. The project team emphasized that the only official distribution of ETHW was held automatically and ended on September 16.
To avoid becoming a victim of fraud, EtherPoW recommends that crypto asset owners pay attention to the addresses of social media accounts, avoid «free» ETHW giveaways, and avoid sharing personal or wallet information.
