Hackers hack into the account of the world’s most popular digital artist, more than half a million wallets at risk

A cybersecurity specialist has warned 672,000 followers of NFT artist Mike Winkelman about an attack on their cryptocurrency wallets.

Security specialist Harry. ETH reported that the page of Winkelman, known as Beeple, was hacked. Hackers have marked the artist’s compromised page with a phishing link to the «official» website where you can register for an NFT draw. The contest in question is Louis The Game, in which fashion designer Louis Vuitton commissioned Beeple to create a series of NFTs.

According to Harry. ETH, several users who clicked on the phishing link have already been attacked and lost 35 ETH worth about $ 71,000. So far, neither Mike Winkelman nor Twitter support has confirmed the incident or reported on the measures taken.
