Hackers hacked the Discord of the famous digital artist Beeple
The artist Mike Winkelmann, better known as Beeple, announced that his official Discord server had been hacked. When users clicked on the link, they were redirected to a fraudulent channel.
it appears our discord URLs have been hacked to point to a fraudulent discord. DO NOT go into that discord and do not verify, it will drain your wallet!
once again massive thanks again to discord for being garbage.?

«Do not enter this Discord and do not verify, it will drain your wallet!» the artist warned his fans.
A few hours earlier, a Twitter user with the nickname maxnaut. eth noticed suspicious activities with the artist’s official channel. He contacted Winkelman and informed him that his NFT collection BEEPLE: EVERYDAYS — THE 2020 COLLECTION has a link to Discord scammers.
@beeple Your OpenSea BEEPLE: EVERYDAYS — 2020 COLLECTION has a Discord link attached to it that links to a scam CollabLand wallet drainer.
Your Discord URL probably got hijacked and your team didn’t update it on OS. You need to change that ASAP or people are going to get rekd. pic.twitter.com/GFMwWU2xd2

According to the screenshot, the fraudsters offered to verify their account through a bot, but such actions led to the emptying of the cryptocurrency wallet. «Your Discord is probably hacked, and the team hasn’t updated the link to the current one in your OpenSea profile. You need to change this as soon as possible, otherwise people will get hurt,» maxnaut. eth said. Later he reported that Beeple seemed to have responded and fixed the problem.
The artist himself blamed Discord for the incident, calling the platform garbage. Cybersecurity experts, however, disagreed with him. They accused the Beeple team of mismanaging URLs.
No your discord URLs were not «hacked». Mismanagement of discord URLs allows this to happen, probably just like it happened to CryptoBatz.

It is worth reminding that NFT artist Mike Winkelmann tends to mock public figures and politicians in his works. Back in July, he posted two drawings on Twitter mocking US President Joe Biden. And in May, hackers attacked Beeple’s social media page. The fraudsters posted a phishing link on the compromised artist’s page to go to the «official» website, where you could register for the NFT draw. The phishing links were on Beeple’s Twitter account for about five hours. During this time, the attackers received crypto assets worth $ 73,000 and $ 365,000, which they later transferred to two different addresses.
