Elon Musk announces the cost of Starlink service in Ukraine
SpaceX spends up to $ 20 million a month to maintain Starlink Internet terminals in Ukraine, but will not refuse to provide services in the future. This was announced today, October 19, by the company’s CEO Elon Musk on Twitter.
No money from DoD, but several other countries, orgs & individuals are paying for ~11k/25k terminals (thanks!).
SpaceX is losing ~$ 20M/month due to unpaid service & costs related to enhanced security measures for cyberwar defense, but we’ll keep doing it (sigh).

on October 17, it became known that the Starlink satellite communication platform would start supporting the option of donations from users.
Are there others that want to donate Starlinks to places in need? https://t.co/M0ASMenMRD

Earlier, SpaceX asked the US Department of Defense to pay for satellite Internet services in Ukraine, which is provided by Starlink terminals. However, Musk later said that he would continue to provide Starlink satellite communications in Ukraine for free. «To hell with it… Even though Starlink is still losing money and other companies are getting billions of dollars from taxpayers, we will continue to fund the Ukrainian government for free,» the businessman tweeted.
