The Guardian has published a ranking of the worst tech bosses of 2022. The list includes Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos, Parag Agrawal, Сем Бенкман-Фрід" href="https://noworries.media/biography/sem-benkman-frid/" data-bio-id="3697">Sam Bankman-Fried, and Elizabeth Holmes. Of course, the list would be incomplete without Elon Musk.

The owner of SpaceX and Tesla had an eventful year filled with conflicts, scandals, technological developments, discussions about cryptocurrency, and, of course, the purchase of Twitter. According to The Guardian, «the world’s richest man has repeatedly demonstrated that he does not understand the connection between words, actions, and consequences

After completing the acquisition of Twitter, Musk immediately made radical changes to the company, firing the CEO, removing the board of directors, and laying off almost 75% of the company’s employees. The entrepreneur then proposed to charge users for a premium Twirrer Blue subscription. As a result, the attackers almost immediately launched several phishing campaigns targeting verified users. Later, Musk announced that the platform would remove all outdated blue verification checkboxes and that the social network would offer a gold checkbox for corporations and a gray checkbox for government and diplomatic institutions. In addition, the Twitter account database will be cleared of 1.5 billion «dead» profiles.

At the same time, aggrieved dismissed Twitter employees filed a class action lawsuit against Musk, and those who remained were subjected to drastic changes in the company’s corporate policy. The billionaire also warned employees that next year Twitter could have a cash deficit of more than $ 1 billion, and thus become insolvent. That is why the entrepreneur is determined to keep advertisers, and in return, he is even ready to sell them personal data.

The last major scandal in the Twitter-Elon Musk saga was threats from the EU. The businessman was invited to testify in the European Parliament because of his violent behavior on the platform and even threatened to block the social network in the eurozone. The gesture was made after the billionaire’s recent high-profile actions, including banning journalists and changing the platform’s user policy. «Twitter plays a key role in the democratic life of the European Union and provides opportunities for civil discourse,» said Roberta Mecola, President of the EU legislature, «The platform should not unwittingly become a catalyst for hatred and disinformation

Interestingly, Musk has not yet responded to the invitation of European officials. Currently, the millionaire is busy firing hacker interns and introducing new functionality on Twitter. As a reminder, the social network has recently added an option that allows users to search for the price of bitcoin or ethereum.
