Elon Musk still hopes to win a lawsuit against Twitter over whistleblower claims
Elon Musk’s lawyers hope to win a lawsuit against Twitter representatives — all thanks to new statements by a whistleblower, former head of Twitter security Peter Zatko.
As it became known, Peter Zatko spoke about significant shortcomings in protecting social network users from possible hacker attacks, privacy issues, and a large number of bots on the platform. According to Musk’s lawyers, such information from the informant is another proof that Twitter representatives violated the terms of the merger agreement.
As for the other side of the conflict, Twitter’s lawyers have once again stated that Elon Musk’s termination of the agreement to purchase the social network is illegal and invalid. However, no matter what statements are made by Musk’s lawyers, the billionaire himself or Twitter representatives, the final decision will be made by the court.
As a reminder, in the case of Twitter and Elon Musk, the judge ordered several Twitter employees and former Chief Product Officer Kayvon Bakepour to provide information on the number of spam accounts on the social network, something that Elon Musk insisted on.
In early July, Musk filed a notice of withdrawal from the Twitter acquisition deal, accusing the platform of having a large percentage of fake accounts. Soon after, Twitter sued Musk to force him to buy the platform for $ 44 billion. Amid these events, Twitter shares fell by 7%.
