Elon Musk says he never trusted the former head of FTX
Billionaire Elon Musk said he never trusted the former head of the bankrupt FTX exchange, Sam Bankman-Fried. The Twitter owner recalled that when he first met Fried, Musk felt: «something was wrong with him.»
Accurate. He set off my bs detector, which is why I did not think he had $ 3B.

Commenting on a Twitter post where Internal Tech Emails re-released part of Musk’s correspondence with assistant Sam Bankman-Fried on April 25, the billionaire said: «He [Бенкман-Фрід] turned on my internal lie detector back then, so I didn’t believe he had $ 3 billion.»
Later, Elon Musk joined the call on Twitter Spaces, where he again commented on FTX’s bankruptcy. «It doesn’t have enough capital, it won’t last long in the market. That was my prediction. And it happened,» the billionaire emphasized. Musk also suggested that the main lesson to be learned from the FTX collapse: «Do not give your cryptocurrency into the wrong hands.»
As a reminder, during Elon Musk’s legal battle with Twitter, Bankman-Fried's personal correspondence with the billionaire was leaked online. As it became known at the time, Will McAskill, an adviser to the former FTX CEO, tried to organize a meeting between Bankman-Fried and Elon Musk in March 2022. In the correspondence, Fried’s subordinate suggested that Musk discuss a possible joint effort to buy Twitter. A joint decision was never reached, as the billionaire was not interested in Bankman-Fried investing in the acquisition of the social network, as Binance CEO Чанпен Чжао" href="https://noworries.media/biography/chanpen-chzhao/" data-bio-id="3681">Changpeng Zhao did.
As for the current situation at FTX: the cryptocurrency exchange was hacked by hackers, according to preliminary data from investigators, digital assets worth more than $ 600 million were stolen. There are rumors on the web that the dismissed employees of the crypto exchange may have been involved. Also yesterday, the exchange published a press release, according to which Sam Bankman-Fried is leaving the position of FTX CEO, and the company is declaring bankruptcy. Bankman-Fried is currently under investigation by the SEC. Just a day after the announcement of the acquisition, cryptocurrency exchange Binance refused to acquire FTX. The company stated that they were unable to resolve the problems on the platform.
