Instagram expands its NFT feature to 100 more countries

2:55 pm, August 5, 2022

Instagram has announced that the NFT feature will now be available in 100 more countries, along with the integration of CoinbaseWallet, DapperWallet, and the Flow blockchain. The Americas, Asia-Pacific, and the Middle East and Africa join the list of selected countries.

Meta first started testing back in July. The feature, which allows Instagram users to showcase their NFT collections, was previously available in the US only to a limited number of people.

Now, to publish NFTs, users need to connect their accounts to a digital wallet. Currently, the platform supports Ethereum, Polygon, and Flow, as well as third-party wallets such as MetaMask, TrustWallet, CoinbaseWallet, Rainbow, and Dapper Wallet.

«Every day around the world, creators inspire people and move culture forward. Thanks to the incredible power of blockchain technology, they can now use new tools to generate revenue, and fans can support their favorite creators by purchasing digital collectibles — art, photos and videos, music, or trading cards — as NFTs,» Meta said in a statement.
