Iran allows paying for imports in cryptocurrency
Iran has passed a bill that allows trading in cryptocurrencies for importing goods. According to the Tasnim news agency, which cites the direct speech of Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade Reza Fatemi Amin, «the bill redefines the regulations on cryptocurrencies, allowing the use of cryptocurrencies for imports, fuel and electricity supply for mining.»
Iranian citizens can now even import cars using digital assets instead of US dollars or euros.
As reported earlier, in early August, Iran announced that it had completed its first cryptocurrency order worth USD 10 million. At that time, the country’s Ministry of Industry, Mines, and Trade announced that it plans to significantly expand the use of cryptocurrencies for imports by the end of September. Also, despite the ban, Iranians did not disdain to Binance-nezakonno-obslugovuvala-meshkancziv-iranu-vprodovzh-2-rokiv/">use the Binance cryptocurrency exchange to conduct cryptocurrency transactions.
