The consulting company Henley & Partners has published a report in which researchers have calculated the number of cryptocurrency billionaires. It turned out that there are 22 people in the world whose savings in digital assets are estimated at at least $ 1 billion.

In total, experts have estimated that the number of cryptocurrency users is 425 million, and the number of bitcoin holders is 210 million. The capitalization of the entire crypto market has exceeded $ 1 trillion, and the GTS has reached $ 500 billion. According to the firm, six out of 22 billionaires hold their assets in bitcoin.

Experts also estimate that about 88,200 investors own $ 1 million worth of cryptocurrency. This is approximately 0.02% of the total number of cryptocurrency users. At the same time, almost half of them (about 40,500 people) keep their investments in BTC. According to Henley & Partners, there are currently 182 users whose cryptocurrency wealth exceeds $ 100 million. Of these, 78 people keep their funds in BTC.

Glassnode’s research has shown that long-term bitcoin investors, or addresses that have held BTC for at least 155 days, now control a record three-quarters of the circulating supply of bitcoin. In September 2020, there were about 17,005 bitcoin addresses in the world with at least $ 1 million in BTC.

According to a study by Henley & Partners, Singapore is the most cryptocurrency-friendly country in the world. «The local government of Singapore works closely with all market participants — banks, organizations, and the public — to optimize the development of the national cryptocurrency sector, and the tax system is favorable for cryptocurrency investors,» Henley & Partners analysts said. In addition, the country has no capital gains tax.

In total, the ranking includes 26 countries that have «taken significant steps in creating a favorable environment for the crypto ecosystem.» The list was based on 6 main parameters: public and infrastructure acceptance, innovation, regulation, economic factors, and taxation.
