Jack Daniel’s creates its own cryptocurrency brand
Jack Daniel’s, the world’s most famous whiskey brand, is applying to register three trademarks in virtual reality. The filing with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) was confirmed by licensed trademark attorney Michael Kondoudis in his tweet on September 19.

As we can see, luxury beverage brands are keeping up with the times and attracting new customers with the help of advanced technological trends. Thus, according to the application filed on September 13 with the USPTO, Jack Daniel’s wants to offer the followers of fine alcohol
- media with NFT authentication (unique tokens with text, audio, video, and illustrations)
- virtual drinks, barware, and clothing
- digital wallets and collectibles.
According to the data published by Condorcet at the beginning of last week, the number of US trademarks related to cryptocurrencies has exceeded 3,600 (data collected between January 1 and August 31, 2022). Given that the data is presented for only 8 months, it is reasonable to assume that this number will increase by the end of 2022. It is worth noting that in 2021, the total number of applications for cryptocurrency trademarks amounted to 3516. Michael Condidus notes that the interest in metaverse has increased significantly when they have the option of investing in virtual property — buying and selling land plots, such as in the Decentraland metaverse.
