Jeff Bezos’s space startup sparked Ethereum’s growth

This was an unexpected trigger for the market, which had been stagnating.

Blue Origin has confirmed that flights on the New Shepard suborbital spacecraft will be paid for with ETH, BTC, Solana, USDT, and USDC via the Shift4 payment processor. Customers will be able to make transactions directly from crypto wallets, bypassing traditional banks. This is the first time that Bezos' company has officially accepted cryptocurrency as a payment, which has attracted the attention of institutional investors.

Ethereum has long been used as the basis for crypto payment infrastructure, in particular through the USDT and USDC stablecoins. Now it has received symbolic confirmation of its role: a global company accepts ETH for one of the most expensive services in the world. This could be a signal to other premium brands and travel services.

Unlike when companies simply add BTC to their balance sheets, this creates a real demand for cryptocurrency spending. This demand supports the Ethereum economy in the long run.

Blue Origin is planning larger programs such as New Glenn rockets and potential lunar missions. If crypto payments remain a part of this strategy, Ethereum could get a role in the new industry.

However, in the short term, the ETH rate will continue to depend on liquidity, macroeconomic factors, and sentiment in the derivatives market. The Blue Origin event is not a game changer, but it adds another important element to the overall picture of cryptocurrency integration into the real economy.
