Qatar hosts the first Fifa tournament in the virtual meta-universe
The first metaverse gaming tournament in the Middle East will be held in Qatar. It will allow fans from all over the world to watch the competition among the best FIFA players for the EA Sports FIFA 22 Champions Cup.
The tournament, which will be held at the Aspire Ladies Sports Hall (Doha), will feature 12 EA Sports FIFA 22 players. Four players from the MENA region who passed the online qualification also got a chance to compete with professionals.
The tournament is organized by Ooredoo Nation eSports platform Gamers' Land. Its commercial director said that investing in innovation is in line with the platform’s strategies. Therefore, the company is proud and excited to be involved with web3.
The concept of the metaverse is that tournament viewers will be able to interact with each other and the players throughout the competition.
In addition, all viewers will receive free NFTs from the company, which they can exchange for goods, use to meet players and various influencers, or keep as an investment.
Fans of the EA Sports FIFA 22 Champions Cup will be able to watch the tournament on its website and on YouTube at any time.
We would like to remind you that a month ago, the company presented a metaverse of mascots of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar. In it, users can stroll through a virtual city, talk to the main mascots of the tournament, learn a lot about football in the Middle East and simply feel like a traveling fan in post-Covid times.
