Binance CEO suggests Elon Musk to fight bots on Twitter with cryptocurrencies
The CEO of Binance, the largest cryptocurrency exchange, suggested that Twitter’s owner fight bots by charging a special commission in cryptocurrency.
«Another way to reduce the number of bots and increase revenue is to add the option 'people you don’t follow must pay $ 0.x for comments'. The system will make comments too expensive for bots and can be easily implemented using crypto,» explained Changpeng Zhao.
The Binance CEO promised to donate part of his personal income to charity.
When Elon Musk was buying Twitter in 2022, he stated that one of his main goals would be to fight bots that had spawned on the social network. Moreover, he also talked about using cryptocurrencies to fight bots, but it didn’t go any further.
In April, Twitter launched trading in various assets through a partnership between the social network and the eToro platform. Users will be able to see price charts of cryptocurrencies and stocks, as well as buy and sell these assets. Twitter already provides the ability to view real-time charts of financial assets using the Cashtags feature.
