The head of the cryptocurrency exchange Binance admitted that he knew about the problems of the bankrupt FTX platform

Changpeng Zhao, the head of Binance, regrets that he did not speak about the problems with the bankrupt FTX exchange earlier. He stated this in an interview with Bloomberg. He noted that the industry failed to keep up with FTX, allowing it to grow to unimaginable proportions.

«I partially blame myself for reporting [про проблеми FTX] too late,» Zhao said.

It is interesting that a week ago, speaking at the Milken Institute’s African Summit, the head of Binance assured the opposite. As CNBC wrote at the time, Zhao explicitly stated that he «had no idea that FTX was in trouble,» adding that Binance would have sold reserves in FTT tokens long ago if they had known about anything.

At the same time, the Binance founder hinted that the problems of cryptocurrency projects are unlikely to end with the Genesis crypto broker. Zhao mentioned that there are a «couple» of other similarly troubled companies, but quickly corrected himself, adding that he did not know the exact number of such companies.
