Luna token CEO suspected of laundering $ 5 million
An insider at Terra (@FatManTerra on Twitter) has revealed information that project manager Do Kwon may be involved in money laundering by Terraform Labs through Kernel Labs.
The latest allegations indicate that Kernel Labs received 6 billion won ($ 4.8 million) from Terraform Labs, allegedly for consulting services. The insider claims that there is evidence linking Do Kwon to Kernel Labs through patents filed by the company. The company was also mentioned in the plan to revive Terra, but any information about it was promptly deleted.
Earlier, Terra’s CEO was caught on tax evasion and ordered to pay 100 billion won ($ 78 million) in fines. The new charges indicate that this may not be the only crime for which Do Kwon will be held accountable.
Journalists tried to speak to several former Terraform Labs employees, but they refused to talk. «Only a small number of people, including CEO Do Kwon, know the real truth about Terra i Luna,» the journalists noted. However, Kwon’s team communicates with the prosecutor’s office without any problems — thanks to this, it became known that the collapse of the UST stablecoin was not news to Kwon — the project manager knew about the problems but deliberately ignored them.
