Kickstarter opposes a neural network that draws erotic images on demand
At the beginning of the month, the developers of the Unstable Diffusion neural network launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise money to improve their project. This neural network can create uncensored images. In a few weeks, they managed to raise more than $ 56 thousand, but then the campaign was closed by the platform itself.
According to the new Kickstarter rules, the requirements for AI projects are getting stricter. The following requirements are introduced for them:
- You cannot copy the works of real artists.
- It is forbidden to imitate the work of artists and make allusions to it without their permission.
- It is forbidden to harm anyone with the actions of artificial intelligence.
These rules are related to numerous complaints from artists about AI, and they are not final requirements, but temporary ones that were promptly introduced after the complaints.
The fact is that the developers of the neural network openly stated that they wanted to train it on works from ArtStation, DeviantArt, and other services for artists. It was planned to use 75 million images for this purpose.
The developers themselves said that they are now raising money on their website. They have already raised over $ 15,000. Thus, the system will be released anyway.
