The number of DApps applications on the Polygon blockchain has grown by 400% in a year
Despite the unstable situation in the cryptocurrency market, the number of decentralized applications on the Polygon blockchain has grown by 400% in a year. According to a report published by the Polygon team, the number of DApps has exceeded 37,000.
As it became known, in addition to the 400% increase in DApps, the monthly indicator of developer activity on the blockchain has also increased — 11,800 active developers in July, which is 47.5% more than in March. Interestingly, 74% of development teams have integrated exclusively into Polygon, and 26% work with both Polygon and Ethereum.
According to Polygon CEO Ryan Wyatt, many projects began to switch to the Polygon blockchain after the Terra ecosystem collapsed. Thus, as of July 10, 50 projects created on Terra, including the NFT trading platform OnePlanet and the Derby Stars meta-universe, have switched to the Polygon blockchain. «We will be investing capital and resources in these migrations to help the developers and communities of these projects,» said Ryan Wyatt.
Another popular blockchain token among the cryptocurrency community is MATIC, which increased in value by 25% after Polygon announced its cooperation with Disney. Disney Accelerator is the largest business development program that helps companies increase their popularity. In 2022, the program will focus on the use of augmented reality (AR), artificial intelligence (AI), and NFT technologies.
This is not the only large-scale cooperation of Polygon — in early July, blockchain representatives announced the start of cooperation with the British smartphone manufacturer Nothing. The developers will add the Polygon ID identification function to the future smartphone. The crypto-options also promise to provide access to Dapps, games, payments, and other products of the Polygon ecosystem.
