The number of cryptocurrency millionaires increased by 48,000 in 2023
In the first half of 2023, the flagship cryptocurrency went through turbulent times. The bitcoin exchange rate was affected by the bankruptcies of well-known crypto platforms and the crisis in the US banking sector. Nevertheless, in six months, BTC managed to increase in value by more than 55%. This caused a wave of optimism among investors and turned almost 48,000 of them into millionaires.
According to Finbold analysts, as of June 13, 2023, the number of crypto millionaires reached 76,078, which is 47,994 or 170.89% more than on January 5.
Among these crypto wallets, 70,747 different addresses have a bitcoin balance of more than $ 1 million, while 5,331 holders have at least $ 10 million in BTC. For comparison, on January 5, 2023, the number of bitcoin millionaires was 28,084, with 24,279 addresses holding at least $ 1 million in BTC and 3,805 of them holding at least $ 10 million. The data was obtained using the Wayback Machine web archive service.
According to the analytical tracker CoinMarketCap, bitcoin is currently trading at $ 26,130, which is almost 1% higher than yesterday. The market capitalization of the flagship asset grew by only 0.5% to $ 548.7 billion. Traders executed $ 11.5 billion worth of daily trades, which is almost 5% lower than 24 hours ago. Bitcoin’s market share is 47.7%.
As a reminder, cryptocurrency analyst Peter Brandt believes that the flagship asset is the only one that will manage to conquer the crypto market and stay afloat. «Bitcoin is the only cryptocurrency that will manage to finish this marathon. The rest of [криптовалюти], including Ethereum, are fakes or scum,» the expert said.
