Former investors in Do Kwon project miss court hearings due to mental health issues
The head of Seoul-based blockchain company Hashed, Kim Seo-joon, did not attend a meeting of the Political Affairs Committee of the South Korean National Assembly. The government agency is investigating the bankruptcy of Terraform Labs, and Seo Jun himself is a witness in the case. According to the businessman, he was unable to attend the hearing due to «severe nervous stress after the Terra collapse» — he reported serious health problems.
«I suffer from anxiety disorders and panic attacks due to severe stress after the Luna-Tera collapse. I have been undergoing psychiatric therapy since July 29. My condition has deteriorated during medication and counseling, and my symptoms are progressing,» Hashed CEO wrote in a statement.
Kim Seo-jung's Hashed and Shin Hyun-sung's Tchaiholdco became the first investors in Do Kwon's infamous project, and later Shin Hyun-sung became one of the co-founders of Terraform Labs.
By the way, the former chairman of Bithumb, Lee Jong-hoon, also missed the hearing, which took place on October 6. The reason for Hong’s absence was a panic disorder. Earlier, another co-founder of Terraform Labs, Daniel Shin, refused to testify about the Terra-LUNA collapse. Shin said that his appearance at the parliamentary audit could interfere with the ongoing investigation by the local prosecutor’s office. Back then, the Korean media characterized the trial as biased and politicized.
It is worth reminding that the cryptocurrency fraudster Do Kwon, who is behind Terraform Labs, is wanted not only by Interpol but also by defrauded investors. Many investors lost absolutely all of their savings after Terra’s collapse, so they have good reason to want the criminal to be punished as soon as possible. Last Friday, it was revealed that Terra’s founder, who is wanted in 195 countries, moved from Singapore to Dubai. Previously, Do Kwon’s whereabouts were not known for certain.
