Former Apple developer works on launching Ledger cryptocurrency wallet
Apple IPod Classic developer Tony Fadell has started working on a new cryptocurrency wallet called Ledger — Fadell came up with a unique design for the updated device based on what a stack of fiat currency looks like.
Representatives of the cold crypto wallet provider Ledger announced the cooperation with Apple, announcing the launch of Ledger Stax at the Web3 event in Paris. The new device will have a credit card format with a large E link display, Bluetooth support, wireless charging, and a touch screen. Ledger promised that each device will be equipped with magnets that will allow cold wallets to be connected to each other in a stack — hence the name of the model.
Fadell said that he designed the wallet by imagining a stack of cash. If you connect several new devices, they will look like fiat currency. The crypto wallet is scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2023, and the product will cost $ 279, which is much more expensive than any previous devices of the company, including the Nano X for $ 149.
At the end of November, Ledger announced its cooperation with the Crypto.com exchange. The partnership with the cold wallet provider is necessary for the platform to expand its own wallet, Crypto.com DeFi Wallet. In the future, this will allow the service’s customers to interact with decentralized applications (dApps) that have an increased level of security. Crypto.com DeFi Wallet will allow users to buy, sell, and exchange more than 1000 tokens, as well as staking and buying NFTs.
The company said that users can now import the Ledger hardware wallet in just a minute. Transactions will be protected as the user will personally confirm the transfer of funds on the device.
